In a series of questions on Reddit, Bill Gates recognizes AI as the biggest technological change to come.
He may have retired, but Bill Gates is still on top of global news. The co-founder of Microsoft took advantage of a quiet day to start a session “Ask me anything” on Reddit. Obviously, the questions revolved around technology and the profound change that the sector is undergoing. In turn, the ex-boss of the Redmond firm spoke about the cryptocurrencyof web 3.0 and also artificial intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence Is the Biggest Technological Change Coming, Says Bill Gates
Bill Gates had to face many questions during the session “Ask me anything” which he posted on Reddit. To the question of an Internet user who wanted to know the next technological change, Bill Gates did not go through 4 paths. For him, it is good to artificial intelligence.
For several years now, artificial intelligence has been in the news and has focused debate on the web. A few small artificial intelligences were already leading the debates, but the deployment of ChatGPT-3 during the end of 2022 reignited the debate and demonstrated to everyone that the power of AI surpasses what we can imagine. With the many utilities that we already know aboutopenai artificial intelligenceit is clear that the technological universe will be profoundly upset, since many professions will disappear or be restricted. And yet, this version is nothing compared to ChatGPT-4 which is coming soon.

Aside from ChatGPT, there are image-generating AIs that are also all the rage. Recently, Microsoft is working on a AI capable of imitating the human voice. Also, the many activities and investments worth billions of the Redmond firm in artificial intelligence are not unknown to the general public. It is therefore right that Bill Gates thinks that theAI will be the next big tech shift.
Bill Gates does not believe in Web 3.0 and cryptocurrencies
For Bill Gates, web 3.0 and cryptocurrencies are by no means a lasting revolution. He therefore warns all those who wish invest in technology trends as the metaverse and web 3.0. For him, these elements will have less impact or will not even have the right to quote.

But Bill Gates’ aversion to cryptocurrency and the like is nothing new. In 2018, the man had already reminded everyone that bitcoin could be shorted. In 2020, he also pointed the finger at the excessive energy consumption required by Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. More recently, in June 2022, the Microsoft founder once again lambasted NFTs. For him, these assets are based on the big fool theory.
Even if the old man’s statements today can be taken as “insane” remarkslet’s not forget that he is rarely wrong in his declarations.
