What is Google Sheets Calendar?

The Google Sheets calendar is a calendar created from the Google Sheets spreadsheet. It’s a calendar that can be shared online or printed and used in physical format.

Google Sheets also lets you collect events, calculate time spent, associate an event with a project, and create custom reports.

There are 2 ways to make a calendar on Google Sheets. You can create your calendar from scratch or use a pre-existing template.

Use a third-party template

Google Sheets table offers calendar templates with many options. Start by opening a new file in Google Sheet or type “” into your search engine to automatically open a blank file.

Then click on “File”. Hover over “New” and select “From Template Gallery”. Then choose the model that interests you. It should be noted that the chosen model can be personalized.

Through your search engine, you can find free Google Sheets templates. Between the varieties of Vertex42 calendar templates, Spreadsheet Class (regular and lined calendar), and Smartsheet, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Create a calendar from scratch

To create a calendar from scratch, first open a new file. Then remove all extra columns, since for a calendar you only need seven columns representing the seven days of the week.

To do this, hold down the Ctrl key and select the columns from H to Z. Then, right-click to access the context menu and select “Delete selected columns”.

In cell A1 (first column, first row), enter a four-digit month and year. Next, hold down the Ctrl key and individually select cells in rows A1 through G1. Enter “Format” in the top menu and position the cursor on “Merge Cells” and choose “Merge All”.

In lines A2 to G2, enter each day of the week. Then fill in your month. Then you can copy and paste your month below to create multiple months or paste it into a new sheet.

Personalize your calendar

After creating your calendar, you can then customize it according to your preferences. You can format the font, merge cells, or change the size of boxes.

It is also possible to add events, holidays, birthdays or anything else in your calendar. To do this, simply insert text in the square corresponding to that day.

Go to the Google Calendar page and click on the + symbol of the “Other calendars” menu and choose “Create a calendar”. After having filled in the name of this one, validate by clicking on “Create the agenda”. Then return to the previous page by clicking on the left-facing arrow next to the “Settings” menu.

Then position your cursor on the name of the calendar, click on the three dots in front of the name and then choose “Share settings”. Go to the “Share with specific people” section, click on “Add contacts”, indicate the emails of these contacts and define the rights of each.

If you want to make it available to the general public, check the box “Make this calendar public”.
