In terms of price, there are reports that this device will have a 12GB RAM version. This version will have a starting price of $1,799. Although it seems to be very expensive, it is expected as it is a foldable mobile phone. Besides, this is the same initial price as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Additionally, the device appeared on the Geekbench racing score platform, with a single-core score of 1047 and a multi-core score of 3257 It runs Android 13 and GeekBench confirms the 12GB memory.
Pixel Fold vs. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
There are already reports that the Pixel Fold screen may be inferior to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. However, in terms of market acceptance, Google may have an advantage. The Pixel 6 and 7 series with the new design changed a lot of things for Google. These devices have been sold in major markets around the world including Japan, USA, UK, France, Germany, Canada, India and many more. Also, without Apple’s foldable cellphone, some iPhone users may want to try the foldable cellphone with Google. So what can stop Google from supporting Samsung foldable devices? It’s efficient!
However, in terms of chip performance, the Google Pixel Fold will also follow the Samsung Z Fold 4. While the former comes with the Google Tensor G2 chip, the latter comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. GeekBench of these chips reveals that the latter is much better than the former. But that’s not all! By the time the Pixel Fold is released, Samsung will be ready for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This device should come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. And this processor will be much better than the Tensor G2.
…there is more
Well, while Samsung has a performance advantage, Google Pixel Fold will most likely come with a better camera. Google is the best when it comes to mobile cameras. For a foldable cell phone, performance is not a major focus. These are phones that are bought for looks, so if they can surf the web, male users are good. However, a good camera will probably be a must for many and Google has it in its pocket.
What about updates? Google is number one when it comes to fast and clean user interface. Google Pixel 7 devices warrant five years of software support. This includes three years of major Android updates and five years of security updates. Pixel phones come with little to no complicated user interface and no bloated apps. Samsung One UI is also a great Android skin. But it’s still a bit different from vanilla Android, which many users don’t want.
